چکیده
Abstract Reinforced concrete (RC) frames with masonry infills can be encountered all over the world, especially in earthquake prone regions. Although are usually not considered design process, case of seismic loading they subjected to in-plane and out-of-plane forces that act separately or simultaneously. In recent earthquakes it was observed loads severely damage even cause their complete collapse, when Due this, effects interaction on performance have received more attention recently. However, most studies focus only fully infilled frames, though openings, such as windows doors essential parts substantially affect response infills. Therefore, this article presents results a comprehensive experimental study nine full-scale traditional RC modern hollow clay bricks for configurations without window door openings under separate, sequential combined loading. Based results, detailed comparison interpretation different infill is presented. The test clearly show unfavourable influence conditions well importance quality execution circumferential mortar joint between frame. new findings used basis required development innovative solutions improve significantly

Assessment of Masonry Infilled Reinforced-concrete Frames with Openings
Original scientific paper Reinforced-concrete (R/C) frames infilled with masonry wall, especially with the presence of an opening, are insufficiently explored structural elements. We have experimentally investigated influence of the opening’s type and position to the lateral response of reinforced-concrete frames with masonry infill. Correction factors, that take into account influence of the o...
متن کاملOptimization of infinite composite plates with quasi-triangular holes under in-plane loading
This study used particle swarm optimization (PSO) to determine the optimal values of effective design variables acting on the stress distribution around a quasi-triangular hole in an infinite orthotropic plate. These parameters were load angle, hole orientation, bluntness, fiber angle, and material properties, which were ascertained on the basis of an analytical method used by Lekhnitskii [3]. ...
متن کاملSeismic Performance of Reinforced Concrete Frames Infilled by Masonry Walls with Different Heights
This study carried out comparative seismic performance of reinforced concrete frames infilled by masonry walls with different heights. Partial and fully infilled reinforced concrete frames were modeled for the research objectives and the analysis model for a bare reinforced concrete frame was also established for comparison. Non–linear static analyses for the studied frames were performed to in...
متن کاملan experimental study on frp strengthened reinforced concrete frames under simulated seismic loading
the current study focuses on the experimental investigation of frp strengthening of rc portal frame subjected to combined vertical and horizontal loads. the main target of this research is to enhance the proposed structural properties that the rc portal frame had before the seismic occurrences by providing retrofitting of both columns and joints with more deformation capacity. the effect of var...
متن کاملExperimental Study of Masonry Structure Under Impact Loading and Comparing it with Numerical Modeling Results via Finite Element Model Updating
Given the sophisticated nature of the blast phenomenon in relation to structures, it is of significance to accurately investigate the structure behavior under blast loads. Due to its rapid and transient nature, blast loading is one of the most important dynamic loadings on the structures. Since masonry materials are widely used as the partition and bearing walls in the existing and newly-built ...
